Updated 2026. The level of upkeep (maintenance) in Tokyo is unparalleled worldwide: the animatronics all operate at 100% capacity, the paintings are impeccable and the special effects are systematically operational.
Buy your Disney Premier Access (DPA) as soon as it opens for Beauty and the Beast and Journey to the Center of the Earth to avoid a 2-3 hour wait.
The popularity of these two attractions is gigantic. The DPA (paid queue skipping) is the best possible investment to secure your day. For the Fantasy Springs area, immediate morning access via the app is required to obtain a free Standby Pass or DPA.
1. The must-see attractions of Tokyo Disneyland
Tokyo Disneyland takes the classic plan of the Enchanted Kingdom but inserts unique versions and cutting-edge technologies. This is the ideal park to start your stay.
Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast: Located in the magnificent pink castle of Beauty and the Beast, this trackless dark ride takes you into giant coffee cups that dance and vibrate to the rhythm of the music from the film. The fluidity of the movements, the size of the sets and the astonishing realism of the animatronics provide intense emotion. It is the park's most popular attraction, with regular waits of 120 to 180 minutes.
Pooh's Hunny Hunt: Opened in 2000, it remains Fantasyland's absolute masterpiece. It is the world's first attraction to use computer-guided trackless technology. Your honeypots sail in completely unpredictable ways, bounce with Tigger and spin in the dream of a giant Winnie the Pooh. A total enchantment for all ages.
Beauty and the Beast Tip
Don't queue as soon as the park opens (Rope Drop), as everyone rushes there at the same time, creating an immediate peak. Wait until mid-afternoon or purchase a DPA as soon as you enter the app.
2. The must-see attractions of Tokyo DisneySea
Tokyo DisneySea is unanimously considered the most beautiful theme park in the world. Its seven exploration ports are full of unique immersive attractions designed for a more mature audience.
Journey to the Center of the Earth: Located inside the gigantic volcano (Mount Prometheus) that dominates the park, this attraction uses high-speed vehicle testing technology. You descend into the depths of the Earth aboard giant drills before being chased by a giant lava monster and propelled out of the volcano in a spectacular acceleration. An extraordinary theme and sensations.
Tower of Terror: Forget the Fourth Dimension! This Japanese version has its own original story. You visit the abandoned hotel of Harrison Hightower III, an arrogant New York explorer and treasure plunderer, who mysteriously disappeared in the elevator after stealing a cursed idol named Shiriki Utundu. The animatronics of the statuette that disappears before your eyes is one of the most stunning special effects in the Disney parks.
Tower of Terror tip
The preshow with the Shiriki Utundu statuette is entirely in Japanese, but the acting, the light effects and the visual effect of disappearance are so captivating that the language barrier disappears completely.
3. The wonders of Fantasy Springs
Opening in 2024, Fantasy Springs land at DisneySea is the largest expansion in the resort's history. It brings together three thematic areas: Frozen (Arendelle), Rapunzel, and Peter Pan.
Anna and Elsa's Frozen Journey: An extraordinarily fluid musical dark ride that retraces the story of the first film. The trackless system allows for backward movements, lateral sliding and magical synchronizations with legendary songs. The faces of the animatronics, projected in high definition onto physical busts, are astonishingly expressive.
Peter Pan's Never Land Adventure: Equipped with 3D glasses, you fly aboard wooden boats alongside Peter Pan and Tinker Bell to save the Lost Children from the clutches of Captain Hook. The mixture of giant screens and real settings creates a fantastic feeling of flight.
Access to Fantasy Springs
Attention ! You cannot freely enter Fantasy Springs. As soon as you pass through the gates in the morning, you must reserve a free Standby Pass or purchase a DPA for one of the land's attractions via the application to obtain the right to enter the thematic area.
4. The unique culture of Popcorn Buckets in Tokyo
In Japan, eating popcorn is a real institution and a major cultural fact. Don't be surprised to see thousands of visitors proudly wearing a colorful Popcorn Bucket around their neck.
Unusual flavors: Forget simple salt or sugar. In Tokyo, you will find stands offering incredible flavors: curry, black pepper, garlic shrimp, soy sauce & butter, caramel, honey, or even strawberry.
Luminous collectible buckets: Popcorn buckets are true works of art. Disney regularly creates new ultra-detailed models representing Cinderella's carriage, Winnie's honey pot, or even luminous buckets bearing the image of Beauty and the Beast or Rapunzel which act as night lights for the night.
Economical filling
Once you have purchased your bucket (around ¥3,200 to ¥4,500 depending on the model), you can have it refilled at any stand in the resort with the perfume of your choice for only ¥600 (Refill).
5. Shows not to be missed
Street, theater and nighttime performances at Tokyo Disney Resort boast Broadway-level artistry and production budgets.
Big Band Beat - A Special Treat: Located at the Broadway Music Theater at DisneySea, this live jazz show pays homage to the golden age of swing. A jazz orchestra, frenetic tap dancing, exceptional singers and dancers and above all Mickey Mouse who performs an absolutely breathtaking live drum solo. An absolute marvel.
Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade Dreamlights: The ultimate version of the nighttime electrical parade. Dozens of giant floats covered with millions of latest generation LEDs parade in a perfect light choreography. The floats of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and Frozen are strikingly beautiful.
Lottery system (Entry Request)
To attend Big Band Beat or the Disneyland Stage Shows, you must enter a free drawing called 'Entry Request' directly on the official app once you enter the park. If you lose, some shows offer free seats without reservation for the very first performance of the day.
