For 2026, Walt Disney World has completely restructured its skip-the-line system to replace the Genie+ service. With the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the Lightning Lane Single Pass and the all-new Lightning Lane Premier Pass, understanding the reservation rules is essential to avoid hours of waiting. Here is our complete and strategic guide.
- ✦ Multi Pass: Book up to 3 attractions in advance per day of visit
- ✦ Single Pass: Individual purchase for ultra-popular attractions (max 2/day)
- ✦ Premier Pass: Unlimited skip-the-line access without reservation for all parks (very high budget)
- ✦ Reservation windows: 7 days before stay for Disney hotels, 3 days for others
- ✦ Sales opening: Every morning at 7:00 a.m. sharp (Florida time)
- ✦ Park Rule: You must make your first 3 reservations in the same park
Updated 2026. The new Florida system is much closer to the old FastPass+ and greatly favors Disney hotel residents. We decipher the intricacies of planning to get the most out of every dollar spent.
Buy your Multi Pass as soon as your reservation window opens (7 days before) and target major attractions at 7:00 a.m. sharp.
Unlike Disneyland Paris where the pass can be purchased at any time, the availability of Lightning Lane slots in Florida is limited. Disney hotel residents grab the best hours. Prioritize Slinky Dog Dash at Hollywood Studios or Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom.
1. The 3 Lightning Lane Formulas at Walt Disney World
There are three ways to avoid normal lines in Orlando in 2026. Here's how to tell them apart.
1. Lightning Lane Multi Pass (The general pass): Allows you to choose up to 3 attractions in advance in a park. Once the big day arrives, as soon as you use your first reservation in the park, you can reserve a new one on the application, and so on (rolling system). Prices vary depending on the day and the park (between $18 and $35 per person per day).
2. Lightning Lane Single Pass (À la carte):Concerns the Resort's newest or busiest attractions that are not included in the Multi Pass. You can purchase a maximum of 2 per day (examples: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT or TRON Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom). Prices ranging between $12 and $25 per attraction.
Beware of the category system (Third Parties)
At Magic Kingdom, EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, attractions are divided into two groups (Tier 1 and Tier 2). From your initial 3 choices in advance, you can only choose one Tier 1 attraction (the most popular) and two Tier 2 attractions (the secondary ones). Once in the park and your first pass is used, this restriction disappears!
2. Booking windows and 7:00 AM tactics
The date on which you purchase and reserve your access defines the quality of your stay.
Disney hotel priority (D-7): If you are staying in an official Disney hotel, you can purchase your passes and make your selections for your entire stay (up to 14 days) 7 days before your arrival date from 7:00 a.m. (local time). This is a huge strategic advantage.
External visitors (D-3): If you are staying outside the Resort or in a single partner hotel, you must wait 3 days before each day of visit to make your choices attraction by attraction.
How to make a successful selection at 7:00 a.m.?
Log in to the My Disney Experience app at 6:58 a.m. Make sure your tickets and group members are properly linked. At 7:00 a.m. sharp, refresh the page and make your choices starting with the most advanced days of your stay, where availability is greatest.
3. Lightning Lane Park-by-Park Strategy
Each park requires a different approach to make the Multi Pass profitable.
| Park | Usefulness of the Pass | Priority Attraction (Tier 1) | Secondary Selections (Tier 2) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Magic Kingdom | Essential (Very many attractions) | Tiana's Bayou Adventure or Peter Pan's Flight | Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion |
| EPCOT | Average (Few attractions with high expectations) | Remy's Ratatouille Adventure or Frozen Ever After | Soarin' Around the World, Mission: SPACE, Spaceship Earth |
| Hollywood Studios | Crucial (Constantly big queues) | Slinky Dog Dash (Leaves in seconds) | Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster |
| Animal Kingdom | Low (Can be done easily without a pass) | Na'vi River Journey (Flight of Passage is Single Pass) | Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, Dinosaur |
