Packing your suitcase for Walt Disney World in Florida requires very different organization from a stay at Disneyland Paris. Between the unstable subtropical climate of Central Florida, the immensity of daily journeys and the specificities of transatlantic travel from Europe, certain oversights can be very expensive on site. Here is our expert ultimate 2026 packing list so you don't forget anything.
- ✦ Shoes: Bring 2 pairs of very comfortable, broken-in sneakers (you will walk 15 to 22 km per day)
- ✦ Rain: Buy quality reusable ponchos in Europe (Disney ones cost $12 each locally)
- ✦ External battery: Essential to last all day with the very energy-intensive My Disney Experience application
- ✦ Sun Protection: SPF 50+ sunscreen, sunglasses and cap non-negotiable all year round
- ✦ Adapter: Type B electrical adapter (USA) essential for charging your devices
- ✦ Basic pharmacy: Anti-blister dressings (Moleskin), paracetamol, and soothing creams
Updated 2026. Drawing on our dozens of stays in Orlando, we designed this list by focusing on what is difficult or expensive to purchase on site in the parks, with a particular focus on the needs of European travelers.
Pack two pairs of shoes and never forget to slip a poncho and power bank into your park bag each morning.
Under the influence of tropical storms or sweat, your shoes will inevitably end up soaked at some point during your stay. Having a second dry pair for the next day is essential to avoid blisters. In addition, your phone will be your main logistical tool (Lightning Lane, Mobile Order, maps): a battery failure will ruin your day.
1. The perfect park bag: What you need to have with you every morning
Every morning, before taking the bus or Skyliner, make sure your small backpack contains these terrain essentials.
1. Quality compact ponchos:In summer, the afternoon rains are torrential. Don't buy the ultra-thin disposable plastic ponchos for €1 which stick to the skin in the heat and tear at the first gust of wind. Choose thin reusable nylon or polyester ponchos purchased in Europe, easy to fold into their pouch.
2. The fast-charging external battery (Power Bank):The My Disney Experience application uses GPS continuously, searches for the parks' wifi network and uses a lot of your screen for reservations. Your phone will be dead from 2:00 p.m. without a backup battery.
How to avoid irritation and overheating?
Under the combined effect of the Florida humidity and the miles traveled on foot, chafing on the thighs or feet can spoil your stay. Slip an anti-chafing stick (like Body Glide or a Decathlon anti-chafing cream) into your bag and apply it preventively in the morning.
2. International logistics: What to prepare from Europe
Traveling to the United States requires strict administrative and technical formalities.
ESTA required: Don't wait until the last moment! Request your ESTA electronic travel authorization on the official US government website (cost $21 per person). Beware of fraudulent intermediary sites which charge up to $80 for this process. Print a physical copy of your confirmation.
Electrical adapter and power strip: American sockets deliver 110V (type A or B). Carry 2 or 3 quality adapters. Our pro tip: bring a classic European power strip. So you only plug one adapter into your hotel room outlet and you can charge all your phones, power banks and MagicBands simultaneously!
Don't forget the tips!
At a restaurant at the table or for delivery services, tipping is institutional and obligatory in Florida. It represents 18% to 22% of the amount excluding taxes. Make sure you have your credit card set up or have some change in cash for hotel baggage handlers ($2 per suitcase).
3. Check grid: Your suitcase at a glance
